Pre-Kindergarten

We offer a full day Pre-K program. Our program uses an integrated curriculum of pre-writing, art, pre-reading, language, pre-math, social studies and science to teach the individual child. This system includes the core knowledge curriculum, the use of several learning centers, group instruction, outdoor interactive play, as well as time in small groups with the teacher each day. On a weekly basis, Pre-K students attend music, physical education, and computer, and French classes. Pre-K classrooms visit the library once a week beginning the second semester of school. Religion is taught daily. There is one teacher and one teacher assistant in each of the classrooms. Students must turn 4 years old on or before September 30 of the year they start Pre-Kindergarten.

Kindergarten

The Kindergarten curriculum also incorporates the Core Knowledge sequence. Our program uses an integrated curriculum of pre-writing, art, pre-reading, language, pre-math, social studies and science to teach to the individual child. The integrated system includes the use of several learning centers, group instruction, outdoor interactive play, as well as time in small groups with the teacher each day. Religion is taught daily. All class intervals are 30 minutes. Music, physical education, and computer are taught once a week. French teaches conversational French, such as greetings, letters, numbers, and songs, once a week. Art instruction is also provided once per week. Students do visit the school library weekly, and may check out books. There is one teacher and one teacher assistant in each of the classrooms. Students must turn 5 years old on or before September 30 of the year they start Kindergarten.

Lower School (1st-4th)

Each grade has two homeroom teachers with an assistant. There is an emphasis on basic skills in an environment which encourages application of those skills and development of higher order thinking. Religion is taught daily for 30 minutes. Music, physical education, and art are taught once a week. French teaches conversational French, such as greetings, letters, numbers, and songs, once a week. Computer lab is provided once per week. Beginning in third grade, our students rotate between classrooms for their subjects which include: Language arts (English/reading), math, science, and social studies. Grades 1-4 also have a math lab and a reading lab for those students who are identified as needing a smaller, more focused setting for these subjects. Core Knowledge Curriculum is used to enhance the studies for lower school.

Middle School (5th-8th)

Grades 5-8 are departmentalized. Teachers work closely together to assure integration of the curriculum. There are seven forty-five minute classes each day. Religion is taught daily. Students study three weeks each of French, art, physical education, music, and computer on a rotating schedule. Grades 5-8 also offer honors literature and honors math for students who may qualify; honors English is an additional option for seventh and eighth graders. The Core Knowledge Curriculum is used to enhance the studies for middle school.
